Financial empowerment:
We work with women groups to train and empower them to provide a support network for each other socially and financially. We introduce the table banking approach to group savings which gives them control over their money, earns them interest and ensures that they are able to lend to each one another and even acquire assets in form of livestock for the group’s advancement. Financial discipline is taught and enforced by the group members.
Sustainable Agri-business models:
We empower the family to generate income and improve nutrition through sustainable agri-business models that teach member of the family can contribute to and benefit from. Land in many part of Africa belongs to the man or the community even though many times it is tilled by women. Largely agri-business models tend to achieve greater success if the man is involved in one way or another.
One of our projects involves supporting women to start ‘village kiosks’ that supplying household consumer goods to homesteads that are off the grid, otherwise known as The Last Mile.
